Master of the double-dunk (b.1944 - d.1998)
Master of the double-dunk, the two-handed-from-the-foul-line dunk, and deadly accurate from the perimeter, Earl Manigault was the nicknamed “The G.O.A.T.” or the Greatest of All Time. Rivals like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar agreed that Manigault was the king of the street basketball in New York City in the 60s. He once reverse dunked 36 times in a row – and thus won a $60 bet.
Partly due to drug problems, Earl never played pro-basketball. He even turned down an offer from the Harlem Globetrotters. But no one could ever doubt his jumping skills as he snatched dollar bills and quarters from the top of the backboard.
Later, Manigault organized tournaments for youths to help keep them away from drugs. And that really made this shooter great.
