Harvey Milk was one of the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in California. Always a civil rights and human rights leader he fought his whole life for LGBT to be allowed the same rights as everyone else. His election gave people of that community much needed hope in a time of widespread hostility and discrimination. Our tee pays tribute to a universal truth and a quote that Milk said and lived: "Hope is never silent".
