First Genetic Scientist (b.1822 – d.1884)
As a youth he was a gardener and a beekeeper. Later Mendel studied philosophy, physics, astronomy and meteorology. What was this genius German monk’s great contribution to humanity? He merely invented the science of genetics. His classic work on the inheritance patterns of peas paved the way for generations of biologists and genetic scientists. Gregor did have his limitations though. He twice failed the oral exam to become a certified high school teacher. Mendel’s epic contribution to genetics was not widely recognized until well after his death.*V-Necks are only available in woman's fit for the time being
